1) Could you tell me a little bit about the history of Out of the Blue Excursions?
I originally purchased the boat for my family – my three kids were absolutely in love with the lake when they were younger and we’ve spent countless weekends on the water. Of course, the boat wasn’t always so elegant. After transforming it from a run-down pink and turquoise hull into the luxurious vessel it is today, I began getting requests from local wedding planners and hotels looking for a unique venue. Lake Pleasant is such a hidden gem and after hosting a series of successful events on Out of the Blue, I knew I had to make this experience available to a wider market.
2) From weddings to corporate gatherings, your business seems to be very flexible and accommodating. Could you provide a brief summary of the service you offer?
We currently offer several signature excursions. Our Yoga Cruise, which debuts on October 1st and will be offered every Saturday at 9 a.m., features a roof-top flow class led by some of the Valley’s best instructors, organic cold-pressed juices, health conscious catering and a morning voyage around the lake. Also available is our Fun in the Sun package – our version of a day on the lake – and private dinner cruises. If a client can’t find what they’re looking for amongst our pre-planned excursions, we always encourage them to get in touch with us. Out of the Blue Excursions prides itself on bringing original ideas to life and we work directly with clients to customize each and every detail, from the décor to the catering to the music.
3) What makes you different than other luxury cruises in Arizona.
The simple fact that there really aren’t any other luxury cruises in Arizona. This is an unparalleled experience that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the state. Even with this lack of competition, we continue to set the bar higher with each event and are excited to see what the upcoming year has in store for us.

5) What’s the most luxurious part of an Out of the Blue Excursions cruise?
The most luxurious part of an Out of the Blue Excursions cruise is something we’ll never be able to capture in a photo. Lingering on the upper deck while the captain navigates the lake’s calm waters. The gentle breeze and occasional spritz on your skin. Breathtaking sunsets and the unique smell of the Sonoran Desert. It’s a difficult feeling to describe. You’ll have to come aboard to truly understand!
